Donald Joseph Qualls (also known as DJ Qualls) is a fashion model and actor in the US. Shooting to fame for his role on Road Trip he has since been featured in more than 20 feature films including The New Guy Hustle & Flow as well as The Core. He also has appeared on over 22 television shows like Breaking Bad Supernatural and Scrubs. A survivor of Hodgkin's lymphoma, which he was diagnosed at age 14 Qualls is a fighter. His cancer was in remission within two years. But the treatment in such a short time had a severe effect on his body, and hindered his development. When he began acting, financial security seemed to be his goal because the experience of poverty was a constant throughout his life. I've lived so frugally for so long I have to have that financial security or my life feels beyond my control, when he spoke to an interviewer. He also reflects on his own childhood and wants to address the issue of bullies. "Cruelty breaks me heart," he said. His ideal role in film and in life is the father. DJ admits that directors don't want to cast him in these roles. It's a dream to be one day an adult, and he will be able spend more time with his career and dedicate it to his child.
